Hello doctor,
Six weeks ago, I had tooth #2 pulled. The healing process has been normal as described by my dentist. I am now experiencing temperature sensitivity on tooth #4, which was previously asymptomatic. Even room-temperature liquid hurts. About eight weeks ago, I had the crown on tooth #4 replaced for cosmetic purposes. There was no pain with this and it did not hurt until this past week. Is there a chance my roots or nerves might be shifting due to the healing process of the extraction and causing the sensitivity?
As a side note, tooth #3 in between the extraction and the one that hurts has had a root canal therapy years ago, which (I assume) is why I am not feeling pain in that one.

Yes, your tooth might be sensitive due to the extraction process that happened in the surrounding area. Keep doing saline water mouth rinses. Take a 1/4th teaspoon of salt in a cup of lukewarm water and do its rinses 3 to 4 times a day for a week. If sensitivity goes away, well and good. If symptoms remain same, and sensitivity to air and liquid increases, it means your root is now sensitive and you might need removal of the crown, get a root canal done of this tooth and get back the same crown on it.
