Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My dentist tried to do a root canal (1st premolar), but it did not work; the second time, he got a microscope and went back in. As soon as he was done the second time, I asked him if it should still be hurting because it was, and he said no, it should not be. So I went to an Endodontist in the city (he also teaches at a university). He did a CT and showed me a massive hole in my tooth from the last guy exploring, but he was not low enough to get the last canal (I have three, and they are twisted). So my question is this, I can not get to this endodontist for three months, and recently the pain from my tooth has been traveling up my face. First, it started to go up beside my nose above the bad tooth, and now it is getting up near my left eye. Is this an abscess? Can I wait? Am I doing more damage? Is it infected? I do not like taking drugs and am not taking anything now. I do not know what to do.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

In case you can upload the CT (computed tomography) scan picture or its report, I may be in a better position to tell you what is wrong there, both about perforation and the prognosis of the tooth. Yes, it is an infection and needs antibiotic medication. I can prescribe one only after you mention your weight and height or any associated underlying systemic disorder like hypertension or diabetes, etc. Yes, you can weigh, but get rid of this apical periodontitis.

Hope you will respond as early as possible.

Regards.
