Trisomy 13

Trisomy 13 is called Patau syndrome. It is a chromosomal disorder where there are three copies of chromosome 13 in the body. Prenatal testing helps to detect Patau syndrome early in pregnancy. Affected children have physical defects such as brain or spinal cord abnormalities, problems in the eyes, cleft lip, and cleft palate.
