Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I tripped and hit my underarm on the back of a chair. My ring finger has been numb for three months because of the damage to the ulnar nerve. What should I do?

Answered by Dr. Anuj Nigam

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are suffering from a direct injury to the ulnar nerve. Most injuries heal in three to five months and may need nerve-enhancing medicines to recover the damaged nerve faster. I suggest you go for nerve conduction tests to determine the current status of the damaged ulnar nerve. Depending on the test results, we could plan for either medical or surgical treatment for the same. Hope I have explained it in a simple and understandable language.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
