Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

If I had unprotected sex on the 29th of last month, took the morning-after pill a few hours later, and today on the 14th, got my regular period which was due today, does that mean I am 100 % not pregnant?

Answered by Dr. Deepika Joshi

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, if you are having a proper flow, then you are not pregnant. You also took the emergency pill after unprotected intercourse. The failure rate of the pill is extremely low.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

So, for sure, I am not pregnant? Will it not affect my next period then?

Answered by Dr. Deepika Joshi

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, it will not. Just make sure that you have a proper flow like your previous periods. In case there is any variation from the normal pattern, then just do a pregnancy test.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
