Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I got my periods on the first week of this month. I had unprotected sex. I have been having nausea-like symptoms, and instead of periods, I am getting red spotting and cramps. My period cycle is 26 days. As I am having spotting now, I am not doing the pregnancy test. What can I do? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is a high chance that you were undergoing ovulation around the time of unprotected intercourse. That is why you are experiencing spotting along with cramps and nausea, so it is likely that the spotting experienced by you is implantation bleeding, and maybe you have conceived. It can also be the onset of the regular period if the flow increases gradually. At this stage, my recommendation is to wait for two days and then do a urine pregnancy test if the flow does not grow. It is very early to get an accurate test result. I hope this helps.

Thank you.
