Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex on 8 th day of my period. Is there any chance of getting conceived? I am taking Krimson (Levonorgestrel) 35 tablets from the 4th of our intercourse.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I would like to know that your periods are regular and why was Krimson (Levonorgestrel) 35 prescribed to you. In a regular cycle (28 days), the fertile window falls from 11- 18 days, and the chances of pregnancy are highest during this time. So kindly get back to me with the above information to help me help you better.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have polycystic ovarian disease so that I was prescribed with Krimson.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

From the above scenario, the chances of pregnancy are very low but not completely nil. Once you finish your Krimson 35 (Levonorgestrel) pack, you should have your regular periods. So in case you miss your periods (very unlikely ), then kindly do a pregnancy test. Krimson 35 also acts as a contraceptive as it prevents ovulation and hence pregnancy if it is being taken from the two days of menstruation.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have started Krimson 35 only after the 4th day of intercourse, thats on 12 th day after menstruation started. Can I do anything to prevent the chance of being pregnant?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Right now, there is nothing to prevent the chance of getting pregnant. But the chance of you being pregnant is also really low. The reason are you have had intercourse outside the fertile window. Also, women with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) do not ovulate (produce ovum) every month. So there is a chance you have not ovulated at all this cycle. Hence making the chance of pregnancy is nil. So do not be stressed (which will make your cycle irregular).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
