Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend. She took Unwanted 72 and vomited within one hour. She was late in her period by six days now. So, we had a pregnancy test and it showed negative. It has been eight days and she still did not get her period. What may be the reason?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. We are here to assist you. It is possible that the Unwanted 72 emergency contraceptive pill was not effective or may have been wasted. However, there is still a chance that she did not become pregnant, as the timing of her fertile date and the day you had sex may differ. Urine pregnancy test gets positive after 8-10 days ofmissing period. I would suggest waiting for two more days and then testing with the first sample of urine in the morning. If the test is negative, it indicates that she is not pregnant. Please let us know if you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can do to help.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

She got her period. What to do next? Is there still any chance of pregnancy?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

  • Now, if they are true periods, then there are no chances of pregnancy.
  • You do not need to do anything now. Be cautious in future.
