Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

If I try to have unprotected sex every weekend, would this increase the chances of me getting pregnant? I am taking my prenatal vitamins. I am trying my best to get pregnant. What should I do? My period goes 28 to 40 days.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If your periods are regular, then there is more chance of pregnancy when you have sex in the middle of the cycle. But when your periods are irregular then it is very difficult to predict ovulation time. But it is in the middle of the cycle only if ovulation is happening. Because you may have menses without ovulation, so you may have to take treatment for conceiving if you have irregular periods. But as your age is just 19 years, so try for at least a year. And if no pregnancy, then go for treatment. Every weekend is not the proper plan if you are planning for pregnancy. There is less chance of pregnancy than a normal couple. Keep that in mind and do not panic early that pregnancy is not happening.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
