Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 22 years old and I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend before a week. I do not have symptoms till now. I assume that there was no ejaculation of semen inside. Is there a possibility for me to become pregnant? I was diagnosed with PCOS before eight months and I was taking Krimson 35 for three months. Now my periods are regular on time. I had my period before a week of having intercourse.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. For getting pregnant, sperm has to be ejaculated inside the vagina of the female and these sperms have to fertilize the eggs. Then it has to get implanted in the uterus. After these processes, a female becomes conceived. But a large number of studies suggest that precum contains sperms but in fewer numbers. Precum-containing sperms can also lead to pregnancy. As you assume that ejaculation was not done inside, but you still have a possibility of having pregnancy. As you had sex after a week of having periods, then you may not be having ovulation around that time. But you need to take a urine pregnancy test with the first urine of the day to have accurate results. Do not drink too much fluid prior to your test. Adhere to all the guidelines given on the package of the pregnancy kit. Based on the outcome of the pregnancy test, you can decide to have further management of your menstrual health.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
