Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had unprotected sex last month, but he did not ejaculate inside of me, for sure. Secondly, I have a 32-day cycle; therefore, I think my ovulation occurred at last month's end. At the beginning of this month, one of my breasts was a little sensitive. There is no pain as such, just the nipples are a little sensitive. Is this normal as I am in my luteal phase, or is this any early sign of pregnancy?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Since you have a 32-day cycle and your last unprotected sex was last month, it was likely outside your fertile window if you ovulated around last month's end. However, sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for up to five days, meaning there is a very small possibility of pregnancy if ovulation happens earlier than expected.
Regarding your breast sensitivity, this is a common symptom in the luteal phase (the time between ovulation and your period) due to hormonal fluctuations, particularly increased progesterone. It does not necessarily indicate pregnancy, as many women experience breast tenderness before their period.
If you are worried about pregnancy, you can take a home pregnancy test in the middle of this month (when your period is due) or a few days earlier with a more sensitive test. If you want more certainty, a blood test at a clinic can detect pregnancy earlier.
I hope this has helped you.
Please feel free to reach out to me again if you have further queries.
Thank you.
