Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had an I-pill after unprotected sex. We have had unprotected sex again after 72 hours of I-pill intake. Do I need to take second I-pill? Kindly suggest.

Answered by Dr. Sameer Kumar

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

No, there is no requirement of repeating the I-pill till 72 hours to 120 hours after the first pill intake. The first pill shall cover up. You may derange the hormonal balance if you take the second pill now. Please practice barrier contraception till you get your withdrawal bleeding now, which would be evident in next five days. The bleeding shall confirm that you are safe.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

What is barrier contraception?

Answered by Dr. Sameer Kumar

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Barrier contraception means the use of condoms. Try condom if you get intimate again before your withdrawal bleeding starts.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
