Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had sex in my fertile window. I took unwated 72 in an hour. Is there any chance of getting pregnant?

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I fully understand your problem and will surely help you. See you have taken unwanted 72 within one hour so there is hardly any chance. However, if you are left with doubts in your mind then a simple urine pregnancy test can be done. However I still say, you will not get pregnant.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Does it delays periods as I am expected to have today but did not? When is the best time to take a pregnancy test?

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

See in certain ladies it indeed delays the periods as a side effect as all these emergency contraceptive pills are hormone-based and they lead to delayed ovulation, etc. So it is fine if the period is delayed, I think it is normal. As far as pregnancy test is concerned, you should try to undertake a urine pregnancy test which you must be aware already is a very simple test. Do it with the first urine in the morning for accurate results. Also, you may consider using any of the brands easily available near your residence.

I hope this helps.
