Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My cousin's report reads as follows. 'There is an evidence of a large posterior myoserosal fibroid measuring 2.9 by 2.4 inches in the upper body region.' Does this need surgical intervention? Can you give some advice? She is yet to conceive.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is a fibroid in the posterior wall of the uterus. If there are no symptoms, it can be left alone. As she is planning to conceive, it is required to be removed. However, there are pros and cons of the same. Her TSH levels (thyroid stimulating hormone) seems high. She needs treatment for that as well. I would suggest you meet an infertility specialist for further evaluation before you proceed with surgery elsewhere.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
