Uterine Septum

The uterine septum is the extra growth of tissue in the uterus hanging from the top of the uterus. The septum might be small or may completely divide the uterus into two portions. This septum affects the implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterus, thus resulting in infertility. Hysteroscopic surgery is used to excise the septum from the uterus.
