Hi doctor,
I had my first unprotected sex several weeks ago. My periods started four days before the day I had unprotected sex. My menstrual cycle usually begins between 19 and 21 days. My next period showed up a week ago and lasted four days. It was normal, but the flow was slow. I had yellow sticky mucus with a foul odor after the day of intercourse and spotting about three days before my period. After my period, I have watery, sometimes white, or light yellow discharge with a strong odor. I also experienced itchiness and stinging before and after my period (with the discharges). It has been 25 days since I had sex, and I have been testing at home several times up until today. I am negative. What is happening? I have never experienced these kinds of symptoms before.

Even after 25 days post intercourse, all urine tests are negative. So does that confirm I am not pregnant? But as I searched on the internet, it shows that it could be implantation bleeding. I am very concerned and stressed out, so I reached out to consult a doctor to resolve my issue. It makes me think a lot, and I do not want to get pregnant. Other than the symptoms I have mentioned, I do not have any pregnancy symptoms. The only signs I had after the intercourse were yellow sticky discharges with a foul smell and a few spottings that appeared three days before my period and the last day. Could you please assist? Is it possible I am pregnant, or should I rule it out completely? Is it a disease? If so, what might it be?

Since you have got your period on time, you are not pregnant. Your pregnancy tests would not be negative if it were implantation bleeding. Instead, you have an infection of some kind. You can perform a culture and sensitivity test on the discharge and then take appropriate antibiotics. In the meantime, place a Clingen (Tinidazole) vaginal suppositories inside the vagina for three nights. Urine pregnancy tests are usually positive 18 or more days after intercourse. If you are concerned, you can take a beta HCG (Human chorionic gonadotropin) blood test. However, according to the information you provided, you are not pregnant.
