Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a fishy odor discharge. I am consulting for myself to know how I can cure this. What should I take? Please help.

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I request you to please share the following information to understand why you have developed this problem.

1. Since when are you having this problem?

2. When was your last menstrual period, and when are you expecting your next one?

3. Are you sexually active, and did you have unprotected intercourse recently?

4. What colour is the discharge?

Nevertheless, based upon your information, I feel that most likely it is a bacterial vaginal infection. I suggest you start with the following recommendations:

1. Use loose cotton undergarments and wear loose undergarments.

2. Use a gentle feminine wash to clean your vagina.

3. Keep the area dry.

4. Observe good hygiene.

5. Abstain from intercourse.

Several antibiotic tablets and gels are suggested for this condition. Please share the details as requested for the correct diagnosis.

Do not worry; I am always there for you. I hope you understand that I do not want to suggest medicines with incomplete details.

Hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor,

My last period came last week, and I expect my next period in the same week next month and I am sexually active. I observed this before three months, which was the first time I had sex with my partner. I am worried because I have an awful smell. After observing this, I used the feminine wash available in my place. Sometimes the color of discharge would be cloudy dark. Please suggest some solution.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I would suggest using Clotrimazole vaginal Pessary if available in your place for three consecutive nights.

Also, I suggest you take a healthy diet and include yogurt in your diet.

Do not worry. There is nothing to panic about.

You will be fine soon.

Hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
