Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 24 years old. Since last few days, I have observed thick jelly like clear whitish mucus coming out from my vagina. It is very thick and dry. It is not like the regular stretchy moist discharge. There is no irritation or pain. I am not sexually active. There is no odor also. Since last five months, I am having scanty bleeding. My period that would normally last five days now lasts only for three days. I will visit a gynecologist in person in some days, but I just wanted to know whether this is of anything serious. Otherwise, I am very healthy. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

A white discharge is usually considered as normal. Also, it can be often sticky and often copious. Now, changes in normal discharge can occur for many reasons, including timing of menstrual cycle, emotional stress, nutritional status, pregnancy, usage of medications - including birth control pills, etc. Reassess yourself, whether you are having those problems or not. You are having less bleeding nowadays. This can be due to some of the few same reasons like obesity, anxiety, stress or thyroid disorders. You need to do some blood tests to rule out obesity, anxiety and stress. A thyroid profile testing is needed at first to assess the cause of this less flow and sticky discharge.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
