My partner gets white jelly-like substance with blood clots during period. What could it be?

White discharge can be normal and it can be after intercourse also. If there is no burning, itching or foul -melling of discharge than no need to worry. Vaginal infection can happen routinely if you do not follow some precautions. If the discharge is increasing or have urinary burning than have to do some investigation and antibiotics accordingly. Do drink more water so that urine should be clear. Keep the vaginal area as dry as possible. Change pads more frequently during menstruation. Eat healthy and less oily and less spicy food. Do urinate and clean the vaginal area immediately after having intercourse. Do follow these precautions and discharge should go down. Normal white discharge can be due to stress also. In the photo the discharge looks like normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity). But if foul smelling then let me know. If you have more doubt and thinking of bacterial vaginosis then you can take Metronidazole 400 mg tablet twice daily for seven days. But I think if there are no other symptoms then it is not required. Do drink more and more water to clear the minor infection.

You can ask icliniq customer care. As I said it looks like some white clot in blood. But do not looks like major infection right now. If symptoms persist then start the medicine. If not then just follow precautions and avoid intercourse for 15 to 20 days.

As I said if the report is positive for these two Gardnerella and mycoplasma then it is bacterial vaginosis. Can take medicines as I told. (Metronidazole). Mucosal surface can have an infection of human papillomavirus. Many times it is self-limiting and disappears on its own in one or two months. If not relieved than we can do biopsy for confirmation. Normally mucosal warts can be due to human papillomavirus infection. But need to confirm by biopsy. You can give cryotherapy for surface warts. But along with the treatment, all precautions should be followed. Both the partner should take the medicines to avoid future recurrence.

If it is not decreasing then you both start the medicines. If it is not decreasing then there is a source somewhere. Better you both take treatment for a complete cure. And if decreasing then problem solved. Continue taking precautions to avoid recurrence. Drink more water to keep the urine clear and keep the vaginal or scrotal area as dry as possible.
