Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I suffer from vaginal discomfort, including itchiness and discharge that is runny and smells bad. Itches in the vagina are very worse at night. Levonorgestrel was discontinued two months ago to try to get conceived. However, I took a recent prenatal blood test, human immunodeficiency virus or sexually transmitted infection results were negative. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please send me your complete history.

When have you taken sexually transmitted infection tests? You can have treatment if you only had a high vaginal swab recently.

  1. I suggest you take a tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and a Metronidazole 400 mg eight hours for seven days.
  2. Strict local hygiene and use only water, not adding any product to it.
  3. Try to use condoms for sex to avoid transmission of sexually transmitted diseases till you have complete relief.
  4. Try to do a sitz bath to reduce pain.
  5. Try to wear soft, comfortable undergarments to reduce symptoms.
  6. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medication with consent.

Please follow up for further assistance.

Thank you.
