Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Lately, I have had itching and irritation in my vagina, discharge has also been a dark almost brownish color. What does this mean?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I fully understand your problem and will surely help you. The symptoms which you have described, it is likely that you are suffering from vaginal infection. Is the discharge foul smelling? When was your last actual or proper period? How was the flow and for how many days? Are you on any contraception method? Please get a urine routine and examination done. For symptomatic relief, Candid CL (Clindamycin & Clotrimazole) vaginal pessary once at night time for six days, Surfaz SN (Clotrimazole, Beclomethasone and Neomycin) cream local application once daily for seven days, tablet Allegra (Fexofenadine) 180 mg once at night for three days, vaginal wash for cleaning of private parts. Keep the area dry and wash your undergarments with mild soap only. Use barrier contraception (condoms) if you are sexually active. If you do not get relieved with the above mentioned treatment then you will require oral antibiotics and treatment of the partner too (in case you are sexually active).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
