Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have irritation and pain in my vagina, and no bacteria were identified in the report. What could be the cause?

Answered by Dr. Madhav Tiwari

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The reports you uploaded all seem to be fine other than some fatty liver related to obesity and lifestyle (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). To manage that, I suggest losing weight and avoiding oily and spicy food. Please consult a medical gastroenterologist for further help with it. For itching in your vaginal part, I would require some more details, Are you diabetic? Is there any thick white discharge from the vaginal area? Does this happen all the time or only after you are intimate with your husband? Is your husband suffering from any form of STI (sexually transmitted infection)? How long has this been bothering you? When did you have your last gynecologist check-up?

For now, I am suggesting some basic medication. I may or may not add an antibiotic based on your response. Consult your specialist before taking the medications.

Thank you.

Treatment plan

Tablet CRANPAC D (cranberry extract and D-mannose), one in the morning and one at night for one month. Tablet ECONORM (saccharomyces boulardii microorganism) 250 mg, one in the morning and one in the night for one month. Betadine Vaginal Pessary, one tablet to be inserted in the vagina for five days. V-WASH vaginal wash, use twice a week for one month.

Regarding follow up

Please revert back with the above details and I may add antibiotics To see a gynecologist for PS / PV (pelvic) examination.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am not diabetic. I have a light white discharge, but not frequently. He has no issues like STI, and it has been a long time since I had intimacy. For the last two months, I have been having this issue. I did visit the gynecologist last week, but I still feel irritation and a burning sensation in the vagina.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest kindly adding the following medication to the previous list. Tablet Ciplox (Ciprofloxacin) 500 mg, one in the morning and one in the night for seven days. This will take care of any infections in the vagina. Please maintain good vaginal hygiene, drink at least 0.66 to 0.79 gallons of water daily, and consume yogurt at least two to three times per week. All of this will help in preventing infections. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
