Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from irritation and a burning sensation in and around my vagina for the past few weeks. I consulted a doctor who diagnosed me with chlamydia. I also took a two-tablet dose of Azithromycin (antibiotic), but the burning and itchiness went away for a day but kept coming back. Is this normal?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below.

1. Do a high vaginal swab to check which organism is causing it.

2. Do urinalysis and urine culture tests.

3. Follow strict personal hygiene.

4. Wear soft, comfortable undergarments.

5. Use condoms to avoid sexually transmitted infections.

6. Take a warm water bath to relieve symptoms.

7. Avoid the application of cosmetics locally in that area. Use a soft razor to remove hair.

8. Take a tablet of Doxycycline (tetracycline antibiotic) 100 milligrams twice daily.

9. Take a tablet of Metronidazole 400 milligrams thrice daily for 14 days.

10. Drink plenty of water and juices.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
