Does venography need false teeth to be removed?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Does venography need false teeth to be removed, and what if the false teeth are fixed? Kindly advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Venography is an investigation to study the vein patterns by giving intravenous contrast. As such, this procedure is a minor one, but always we need to be prepared for any emergency. Whenever there is a reaction, that situation has to be managed well. On the precautionary side, removable dentures should be removed. Fixed dentures can be left behind.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
