Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mother is a 70-year-old diabetic and hypertensive patient. She takes tablet Telista AM 40 mg, tablet Alprazolam 0.5 mg, tablet Nexito 10 mg, tablet Glycomet-GP 3/850 mg, and tablet Ecosprin 75 mg. She has had pain in shoulders, hands, and fingers for the past two weeks. It is severe during the morning and diminishes after that. She is unable to pour tea or knead the flour. There is no swelling and redness. Ten days back, she had a fever with severe joint pain and a mild UTI due to antibiotics lasting for two days. Our family doctor prescribed tablet Hifenac-P for two days to reduce the pain. But it did not help. Another doctor online prescribed the tablet Etoshine 60 mg for ten days. Is the pain related to viral fever, and can it last for two weeks? Can she continue tablet Etoshine 60 mg with her routine tablets?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please clarify whether she can lift her hand above the head? Is there any aggravating pain?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

She can lift her hand but there is a joint pain especially in the thumbs. Can she take the tablet Etoshine 60 mg?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, I suggest tablet Etoshine (Etoricoxib) 60 mg for her. You have only answered my first question. She has uncontrolled diabetes. I do not think it is a shoulder problem. Please answer my second question.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
