Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had done a complete blood count test and the reports suggested very low levels of neutrophils and abnormal levels of lymphocytes. There is no history of any illness or medications. Why so?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

According to your history and reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), a high lymphocyte count may be due to a viral infection. The neutrophil count is relatively low due to lymphocytosis. However, your high lymphocyte count needs to be followed up. I suggest you repeat the complete blood count after a few days to check the lymphocyte count. The lymphocyte count will go down further if it is due to inflammation or infection. But if it remains high, I suggest you consult a specialist.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
