Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have eye problems consisting of black, transparent, and colored flickering dots around my vision. An ophthalmologist has ruled out some issues within my actual eye, so I would like to know if my condition is neurological and if it is treatable or not. Please help me. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

There is a jelly-like substance in the eye called vitreous, and as age progresses, it starts to liquefy, and you start seeing floaters, or it also happens in high myopics. You should go to an ophthalmologist immediately if there is an increase in the number of these floaters or decreased vision or if you see flashes of light because these are the signs of retinal detachment. I suggest you get your retina checked. If the retina is alright, then consult a neuro-ophthalmologist. I hope this information will help, and also feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
