Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was in working abroad until five years ago, where I was infected with fever. Since then, there are a lot of changes in my body.

  • Severe body aches, that too the joints.
  • Acid reflux.
  • Hairy type skin peeling on mouth inner side.
  • Burning sensation under my foot. That too on the back end of the foot.
  • The food when I am sharing with others causes severe viral fever with severe cough to those who are taking that food or using the same utensils uncleaned used by me.
  • When I am near someone they are also getting cough and throat congestion.
  • But I am not having any fever continuously, occasionally in a span of three or four months I am infected with fever.

I have taken all the tests including TB but all the results show negative, even the ESR shows normal value. The liver only shows slight enlargement.

I am suffering from this since five years and whoever I meet or share my utensils or food with are definitely affected.

My liver function test shows slightly increased values.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Firstly, do not worry about it. I do not think you are suffering from any major disease. Regarding transmitting the infection to others, I think it is just a coincidence since your ESR and other parameters are normal ruling out active infection and also sharing utensils will not cause coughing and all. It mainly occurs due to airborne transmission, and these viruses are always present in the air which can cause such infection to susceptibles.

For body ache and joint pain, you should get vitamin D tested and we shall start supplements after confirming the deficiency. Your other complaints like burning and peeling of skin are likely due to other vitamins deficiency. So, at present, I suggest you taking Tablet Zevit (Zinc and Vitamin B complex) once a day for two weeks.

You should measure the body temperature whenever you feel feverish if it is normal then rules out a fever. For your reflux problem, you should avoid fatty, oily and spicy diet. Have a walk after having food instead of taking rest. Have multiple small meals instead of heavy meals. Have regular sleep habits and avoid stress. Lots of green leafy vegetables, and fruits. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.

I also suggest you taking Tablet Pan DSR 40 mg (Pantoprazole and Domperidone) or Esomeprazole and domperidone combination before breakfast once a day for two weeks. If not adequately relieved, then you should add syrup Sucral O or Gelusil two teaspoons three times a day for a week.

Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
