Warfarin-induced Bleeding

Bleeding is the most common side effect of taking Warfarin, an anticoagulant (blood thinner). It is used to treat or prevent blood clots. The risk of bleeding can be reduced by keeping the international normalized ratio (INR) within the normal range. The INR is a measure of the time taken by the blood to clot. Stopping the warfarin therapy and administering vitamin K helps arrest the bleeding.
