Are abdominal tightness and creamy white watery discharge after ovulation signs of menstruation?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am trying to conceive. But about a week after ovulation, I started noticing a creamy white watery discharge on my underwear. I had never experienced anything like this, not even when I got my menses. I am experiencing abdominal tightness today, and my menses are not due. I do not know what I am experiencing. Hopefully, this is not my menses. I get other symptoms before my menstrual period, like tender breasts, and I am not experiencing any symptoms. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have described you are trying for conception. The menstrual cycle is made up of hormones, and conception occurs with the help of these hormones and pregnancy. All hormones have side effects as well. Most of the symptoms, like engorged breast, and abdominal tightness, could be near menses and at fertilization due to progesterone. Do not worry. It is just hormonal effects as your body is trying to accommodate or have a conception. Have folic acid 0.4 mg daily. Have a healthy, nutritious diet with low salt, sugar, oil, and spices. Do daily walking, yoga, and exercise. You can check serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in advance for fertilization or conception. It is your third pregnancy if the level comes between 5 to 50 IU/ml. In case of bleeding, pain, or dizziness, report to the hospital.

Thank you.
