Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 35-year-old female. I have been feeling fatigued, tired, and sleepy constantly for a few days. There is no significant change in my daily routine. Can this be due to any deficiency? Should I get my thyroid checked, or should I take any other tests?

Answered by Dr. Arpit Varshney

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, you are right. The gradual onset of these symptoms can be a sign of thyroid disease. You should get a thyroid profile done along with a complete blood count and random blood sugar, as these tests will reveal anemia and diabetes if present. These can also be a cause of these symptoms. Thyroid disease, diabetes, and anemia can be easily controlled with tablets. Apart from this, I suggest taking Calcium tablets and Vitamin D tablets as females are generally deficient in calcium and vitamin D. Once the reports are available; you can discuss treatment with me or your local physician. There is nothing to worry you will be fine after the correct diagnosis and treatment.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Kindly go through my attached report and let me know if I need any medication. Would you please name the Calcium tablet and Vitamin D tablet?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I had gone through your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). You have mild anemia, which is common in females. I suggest you take;

a) Tablet Orofer XT (Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid) or tablet Livogen XT (Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid), one tablet daily with meals for one month.

b) Tablet Ezorb forte (calcium) is the best available calcium supplement. I suggest taking one tablet of Ezorb forte daily.

c) Capsule Uprise D3 60K (vitamin D3) one capsule every week(every Sunday) for two months.

d) Tablet Arcalion (Sulbutiamine) two tablets in the morning for seven days. This tablet will help you with the asthenia and weakness you feel.

Other reports are within the normal range. The sugar levels are on the borderline. For this, I will recommend diet modifications and exercise, and a test named HbA1C (glycated hemoglobin). This test will help to estimate your average blood sugar for the last three months and whether you need medicines to control it or not. Currently, diet modification and exercise are enough. There is no need to take any other tablet.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your quick response. I need one clarification. You have suggested taking two tablets of Arcelion daily morning. Do I need to take this after breakfast or empty stomach? Also, please confirm the number of tablets to be taken per dose.

Answered by Dr. Arpit Varshney

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest taking;

a) Tablet Arcalion 100 mg two tablets (that is 200 mg) to be taken in morning after breakfast.

b) Tablet Orofer XT with meals in afternoon.

c) Tablet Ezorb forte between the meals.

d) Tablet Uprise D3 60K once a week anytime of the day.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
