Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently had my third blood transfusion a week ago. However, it has been a week, and I still feel unwell. I have a history of severe anemia. Is this normal, or what should I do? I feel tired, weak, and have zero energy.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

For severe anemia, you were given a blood transfusion. Clinical improvement depends upon the hemoglobin value. Usually, if your weakness is due to anemia, symptoms will improve with the normalization of hemoglobin levels. If there is no improvement, other causes for weakness need to be investigated, such as low vitamin D, low calcium, electrolyte imbalance, liver and kidney disease, among others.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
