Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had weight gain problems for many years and worse after having kids, I managed to get to 125.66 Ibs and maintain it for four plus years. Then one thing after another happened and I find myself back at the biggest I have weighed in many years and I cannot stand it. I have only ever taken Duromine for weight issues, after losing it I am able to manage and sustain the weight loss. In the past 12 months, I have had three shoulder surgeries for a workplace injury, during that time I was unable to work out or go to the gym at all, so the weight began coming back. I initially lost 74.96 Ibs and I have put back on over 22.05 Ibs or more, I am quite short so it gives me back issues and overall just makes me feel depressed and unhappy, and uncomfortable. This time I have been prescribed Contrave but the reviews I have read are horrendous and given the hefty price I am not sure how I feel gambling on something I am unsure about. I have taken Saxanda with no weight loss, Duromine 40mg which worked, and Reductil back when that was used. I also take Ativan and Mirtazapine for sleep. Please help.

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

There are better drugs available to reduce weight. I would not recommend Naltrexone and Bupropione due to their many side effects like palpitation, insomnia, and blurred vision.

I suggest the following-

1. Healthy diet and exercise.

2. High fiber diet and fruits.

3. Regular sleeping habits.

4. No smoking and alcohol.

5. Medical management can be done with Liraglutide; it is a drug for diabetes, but it is also being used for obesity.

however please consult a physician before taking medicines

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
