Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My vaginal opening is white (which was never before) and it seems to keep producing discharge. I am not taking any medication and I do not have a medical history. What is happening? I do not experience itching or irritation at all, but the discharge is weird somehow, it is clumpy.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is better to take a high vaginal swab to check the organisms causing discharge. There are some organisms present in the vagina that are not harmful but some infective organisms can cause harm, irritation, and itching in the vagina. These are due to some infective virus or bacteria. This needs to sort out to have proper treatment.

1. Follow strict hygiene.

2. Wear soft comfortable undergarments.

3. Sit in warm water to relieve side effects.

4. After the collection of vaginal swabs you can have the treatment mentioned below.

Take tablet Ponstan (Mefenamic Acid) or Paracetamol 500 mg eight hourly, tablet Doxycycline 100 mg 12 hourly, and tablet Metronidazole 400 mg eight hourly for seven days.

5. Use condoms to prevent sexually transmitted diseases.

I hope you get my point.

Best of luck.
