Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had three wisdom teeth extracted four days ago. The tooth beside the extraction site has been in much pain since the procedure. I cannot bite down on it, and I woke up with a mouth full of blood this morning. I went yesterday for check-up, and the doctor said everything looked fine. Is the tooth infected? What should I do?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

So your history and attachments reveal it is a case of trauma to the tooth due to traumatic extraction of wisdom teeth by faulty instrumentation. There is also an aphthous ulcer adjacent to the tooth involved. Text if you feel your tooth is mobile. I suggest you take a tablet of Xerodol SP (Aceclofenac) twice daily for five days and a tablet of Pantoprazole 40 mg once a day for one week and apply Dologel CT (Lidocaine) to be used twice with cotton on the ulcer for five days.

Take preventive measures such as:

1. Do not rinse your mouth frequently. It will cause bleeding by not letting the clot organize.

2. Do not bite complex objects to allow your tooth to relieve inflammation which can take around one week.

I hope you will be relieved by following this protocol. If your tooth is mobile, tell so that it can be adequately addressed.

I hope this information will help.

Thanks.
