Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a swelling in my wisdom tooth for the past three to four days. And, when I took a photo, I saw a pimple on the inner side of my cheeks that hurts. Also, the pimple is painful when I eat something. Can you please suggest me what to do now?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

I saw the attachment. Your wisdom teeth have already erupted and are in bad condition. It looks badly carious or fractured (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). I suggest you to get an X-ray done and get it treated soon by a dentist. The final diagnosis can be made only after seeing the X-ray. You may have to go for an extraction of your wisdom teeth followed by an antibiotic course. Also, I think there is an abscess or pus in the underlying area, which must be cleaned and appropriately irrigated, followed by an antibiotic regime.

For now, I suggest you to do a salt, and warm water mouth rinse four to five times back to back and get a dental appointment today itself.

I hope my answer was helpful.
