Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wisdom tooth is coming horizontally, causing a lot of pain in my right jaw. I have an X-ray of the same, the picture of which I will be attaching here for your reference. Is the last option to remove the teeth, or can we treat it with medicine? And how much should I expect the charges to remove the teeth?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have a history of horizontally placed wisdom tooth in the right lower region and intense pain. I have seen the picture of the X-ray attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). I suggest the best option is extracting the tooth, as it is lying fully horizontally in the jaw. I can also identify some caries in the tooth, which is also causing you pain along with the pain the tooth is causing by pushing the next teeth. Any other treatment options, including medication, will be temporary and not the best. The pain will come again, and it is possible that caries can spread to the next tooth and damage the tooth, causing extra pain and treatment costs for you. It might seem scary, but once the procedure is done, you will be free from the pain, pressure, and discomfort it is causing, and you can also save any trouble for the next tooth. The charges vary in every clinical practice depending on the instruments used, the technology used, complexities, and many other factors. It will be very difficult to point out a number. Thus, I suggest you get your lower right wisdom tooth extracted as soon as possible.

Thank you.
