Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My baby is one year four months old, height 2 feet 5 inches. She is suffering from the worm. What medicine and how to give it? Please tell. What will everyone in the family eat? So what do adults eat? I have a child aged five years and eight months. What medicine should I give him?

Hi,

Welcome to iCliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

Firstly I would like to assure you that there is nothing alarming with respect to the condition of your baby. You can administer deworming for both children simultaneously. I suggest you the following medications for your baby:

Syrup Albendazole 200 mg for the one-year four-month-old baby and syrup Albendazole 400 mg for the five years eight months old baby. Please send me a photo of the syrup at your place so that I can help you out with the exact dosage.

Coming to your next question, please note that a five-year-old child should be eating at least 50 to 75 % of the father's meal. Whatever you make at home can be eaten. But please make sure that the veggies are washed well with a disinfectant and boiled to prevent worms and avoid anything deep fried in oil. You can also make sure no small food particles or any other particles are on the floor because the commonest reason for worm infestation is eating off the floor or not washing well after using the restroom.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
