Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I obtained a small tear from a trousers zip some years back. Although the incision is minor, the inside skin tends to appear randomly. This has affected my confidence immensely. I am not sexually active, and I am single. I have also tested for urinary tract infections, but all results have been tested clearly. My doctor suggested I use Clotrimazole, but it has not affected the healing of the tear. It is small, 0.6 cm. Can you please advise me on what cream or supplements I can use to heal this?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

A few years back, it must have healed by now. The tear usually heals within a week, and the wound gets completely normal in three months. The zipper tear can create trauma, and we get worried when every time tries to close the zip. It would be helpful to use collagenase cream to soften the scar for three months; then, all would be well. After that, ointment or cream which have collagenase is great for healing.

I hope you find it helpful.

Kind regards.
