Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious bacterial infection caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which usually affects the lungs. Some of the symptoms during the active stage of TB are a loss of appetite, unintentional weight loss, chills, fever, night sweats, chest pain, and feeling week. In the latent phase, TB has no symptoms. It can spreads when you inhale water droplets expelled by an infected person when they cough or sneeze. If left untreated, TB can spread to other parts of the body through the bloodstream and infect the bones, brain, liver, kidneys, and heart. A combination of antibiotics like Isoniazid, Rifampin, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide is used to treat tuberculosis.
