Are painful, heavy periods normal in the first few years?
Hello doctor,
I am 18 years old and have always suffered from awful period pains and I am having extreme heavy flow (changing a super tampon every hour, otherwise I leak through). I get cramp so bad that if I do not sort of move around I feel as if I am going to throw up or pass out. I am honestly sick of having to live with this, especially at my age. It is preventing me from doing so much every month and I cannot deal anymore.

My girlfriend and I had unprotected sex a week before her expected period. Considering her 21-day cycle, we took an emergency contraceptive pill (I-pill) approximately 6 hours after intercourse. It is important to note that she has polycystic ovary syndrome. However, she is now two days late on her period, causing us to worry. Can you please provide any suggestions or advice?

What causes frequent urination while using a tampon?
Hello doctor,
Yesterday I scratched myself, while I was using a tampon. Now I have a pressing urge to use the bathroom every 10 minutes. Every time only a little pee comes out, it stings a lot and has a bit of blood in it. Is this a vaginal scratch or a yeast infection? Should I see my doctor? I feel uncomfortable even during sleep, and I took two Ibuprofen for pain.
