Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 26-year-old male. I am suffering from gender confusion. I cannot bear this pain and I have been experiencing this problem from a very little age. I have been thinking that I cannot be a boy anymore. Can I change my gender?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I have gone through what you shared and I can understand that you are feeling stuck and you do not identify with the gender you are born with. To start with, let me know what you do. What makes you think that you are a female? Since when do you feel this way? Have you ever mentioned this to anyone? When you ask me, "Can I change my gender?" Are you saying you want to change your thinking or do you want to change your gender? If you mean you want to change your gender, you will need to go through lots of sessions of psychotherapy and counseling to get confirmation from your family, doctor, and psychologist to reach a conclusion about gender change. It is not a small decision, it can alter your whole life and hence it needs assistance from many doctors.

Hope I have answered your query.

If you have further doubts, write back to icliniq.com.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
