Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My problem is I can not see dirty things. After seeing such things as wet areas, dustbins, toilet seats, and dirty corners, I just feel like vomiting. And my mind constantly thinks about those things. When I close my eyes, I imagine dirty things like dirty wet areas, sinks, and washbasins, although I do not want to imagine that. I am not able to understand what it is. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

Based on the description of your complaints, I am of the opinion that you are suffering from a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder. The problem is characterized by

1. Obsessions: Repetitive intrusive thoughts which are disgusting and cannot get rid of despite efforts. For example, thoughts about being dirty or contaminated, disgusting thoughts or images about sex, filth, and gods, and thoughts about having missed something.

2. Compulsions: Repetitive rituals or acts that a person performs to get rid of the anxiety caused by the obsessions, like repetitive hand washing, checking, praying, counting, etc.

A lot of variety of symptoms are found in each patient. I suggest you meet a psychiatrist as soon as possible.

I hope this helps.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
