Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am sharing an MRI report of my nephew. He has two lesions, one on the submandibular gland and another on the right side of the parotid gland. The report shows the lesion as a well-circumscribed, ovoid in shape, heterogeneously T2 hypointense solid lesion measuring 0.8" (H) x 0.7" (AP) x 0.5" (W) in size, in the tail of the right parotid gland with a sharp lesion. Parenchymal interface, producing a capsular bulge and indenting the styloid apparatus and sternocleidomastoid. On the transverse sections, the lesion is centered posterior to the ascending ramus and bulges medially into the inferior aspect of the deep lobe. The main trunk of the right facial nerve and its branches are normal. The superficial temporal artery and retromandibular vein are patents. No exoglandular extension. Stylomastoid foramen is normal. No sialectasis. The left parotid gland is normal.

Well-circumscribed, ovoid-shaped, heterogeneously T2 hyperintense solid lesion with lobulated margins measuring 2.8 cm(AP) x 1.7 cm (W) x 1.4 cm(H) in size is seen in the ventrolateral aspect of the left submandibular gland, protruding beyond the gland contours, with a sharp lesion having a normal parenchymal interface, indenting the digastric and mylohyoid muscles, without extension into the submental space or FOM. No intraglandular sialectasis. The right submandibular gland is normal.

My nephew had surgery as his submandibular gland was infected. His biopsy report was normal. However, after the surgery, he started getting neuralgia pain on the left side of his upper lip. You had suggested Hypericum 30 ch and Spigellia 30 C ten drops each on an empty stomach early in the morning and magnesium Phosphate 1M ten drops in half cup water at night.

Kindly suggest some medicines that can help dissolve the solid lesion in the parotid gland.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As the biopsy reports are normal, I suggest him the below treatment plan:

  • Hippozaeninum 200, one dose early in the morning on an empty stomach tomorrow and after a week.
  • Asimina Triloba 30 five drops twice a day for 15 days.
  • Sanguinaria canadensis 1M, one dose every third day for 15 days.

Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medicines with their consent. Also, discontinue all other homeopathic medicines and follow up after 15 days.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

I have come to know that my son is addicted to smoking. He is only 27 years old. Is there any medicine that can help him come out of this habit?

Kindly suggest.

Answered by Dr. Arti Yadav

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest him to use Caladium 1M ten drops at a time and repeat after a week. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medicine with their consent. It helps control the craving. Also, he can use nicotex chewing gum for distraction.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Kindly note that my nephew has a severe dental problem and he had a check up with the dentist. As per the dentist, there is bone loss. A big hollow below the tooth. It has caused a pseudocyst. Treatment involves the removal of 3 to 4 teeth, cleaning, and scaling of the hallow, and facial cosmetic surgery for bone generation and reconstruction. It will take four months to recover. Till then he will be on liquid easy to chew food. As you remeber he had a lesion in the submandibular gland and it was operated in April and it was a normal lession. That time also another lesion was seen on right hand side paratoid gland and on biopsy it was also normal. Now we are worried, I want few help from you:-

1. What can be given in homeopathy for his recurring pain? He is having continuous pain.

2. As there was a bone loss and such a gap has been formed, can we treat such type of bone loss, if it can not recover, as least we should stop further bone loss.

3. For your reference I am sending his digital film, where the dentist has observed the bone loss and finding a gap.

Answered by Dr. Arti Yadav

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is definitely bone loss there and it is difficult to guarantee anything. Removal of infected teeth is the first step along with cleaning as it will help in stopping further bone loss. I would suggest following medicines for slowing down further progress but the removal of infected teeth at the earliest is the first step and then bone regeneration by the surgeon. The surgeon's opinion should be adhered to religiously.

  1. Syphilinum 200, one dose tonight. From tomorrow Symphytum tincture 20 drops in half a cup of water once a day for one month.
  2. Hekla lava 30 and Calcarea flourica 30, 10 drops of each in half a cup of water once a day for 15 days.

Let me know after 15 days.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Today we received the CBCT and OPG report of my nephew. I am attaching the reports for your kind consideration. In their impression, they have given two opinions:-

1. Osteomyletic.

2. An aggressive lesion in the left mandible region.

Now we are planning to have a proper biopsy to get the exact picture of the lesion and infection. So now I request you to provide medicines based on the above finding and obliged.

Answered by Dr. Arti Yadav

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Since osteomyelitis has been diagnosed, I am changing the prescription.

  1. Staphylococcus 200, 10 drops daily at night for 15 days.
  2. Echinacea tincture 20 drops in half a cup of water early morning empty stomach daily for 15 days.
  3. Calcarea flourica 30, five drops twice a day daily for 15 days.

The course of antibiotics and surgery to remove necrosed tissue is advisable and highly recommended as it is a serious condition and needs urgent attention.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

My nephew has pain in the chest area. We have done a Chest PA x-ray and they show some irregularities in the rib the doctor suggested CT-HRCT, in which we found a hairline crack in rib-8 and some erosion of bones. Doctors are relating this issue with his mandible problem which reports I have sent you. They are advising a biopsy of the mandible region, PET scan considering rib problem, etc.

He got nervous. His father had a history of bipolar disorder and he died two years back. His grandmother (mother's side) had severe depression. His mother has also a few symptoms of anxiety and depression but not taking any medication. So high request some good homeopathic medicines for my nephew to be given at this stage to overcome this anxiety and nervousness unless we come to some conclusion after getting his complete investigation. I am attaching his HRC and blood reports too.

Answered by Dr. Arti Yadav

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have seen the reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Mandibular osteomyelitis needs to be corrected with antibiotics, removal of the necrosed area, and then reconstruction by plating. The biopsy reports are normal so that is good news. The hairline crack of the rib can be explained by a specialist only whether it is because of some injury, osteoporosis, or some other reason. As of now, I would suggest that you give him anxiety medicine as suggested for one week and then start with other medicines. The positive frame of mind will help him in overcoming the health problems quickly and he will surely overcome them.

All the best and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thnak you for the reoly.

I wanted to discuss about my nephew's condition with the following steps:-

1. On the 18th I have taken him to a hospital. There an Oral-Maxifolliofacial surgen has taken the biopsy, the report came on the 26th, and it says no malignancy but the tissue samples were not sufficient to give any conclusion, hence they advised for repeat biopsy with the big sample.

2. On the 21st we had his PTH, which was normal.

3. On the 31st again we came to the hospital for his second biopsy with a large tissue, and the doctor found no trace of malignancy.

4. On the 30th we had a PET scan.and its impression was multi myeloma, or it can be a metastasis.

5. But on the 30th we had done serum protein electrophoresis and ANA profile and both reports were found normal.

6. Today we got the final biopsy reports which impression is that granulation tissue with chronic histiocytic infiltrate.

I am attaching all reports for your kind advice and what treatment shall we start for him or some more investigation if you suggest. Please suggest some strong homeopathic to cure this type of chronic inflammation. I will be obliged if you can give weekly basis strong medicines. So that he can continue his daily basis allopathy medicines too.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com

I am changing the medication. Please start with Spigellia 1M, one dose every third day for left-sided pain for 15 days. And Calcarea fluorica 30,5 drops thrice a day for 15 days. Let me know after 15 to 20 days.

Take care.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Just now I have received your message. I am slightly confused. You have covered medicines for left-sided pain. Apart from pain, we have to also treat the inflammation. As given in his biopsy reading and bone/gum loss so that further no damage occurs for the time being. Please confirm, or I may be making some mistakes in understanding.

Answered by Dr. Arti Yadav

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I think there was some technical glitch as your old query without reports was reflected in follow up and I went through that again. I have gone through the reports sir so as of now all the reports are normal except for the chronic inflammation mentioned. So for chronic inflammation, I am suggesting the following medicines

  1. Belladonna 30 and Arnica 6c, five drops of each in half a cup of water four times a day for 15 days.
  2. If there is pain on the right side then Sanguinaria 200, five drops daily at night for 15 days.

Let me know after 15 days and sorry for the confusion caused. If any more clarification is needed then u can send me a follow-up query.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

This is regarding my nephew. You have prescribed him Bellandonana-30 Ch and Arnica-6 C- 4 times a day. Then for his left side pain, you have prescribed him Spigellia-1 M- at night. At present he has no pain, so he is asking can he stop it. Further, he has two basic problems,

1. As he has a lesion in diferent different part of skeleton area, and also a lesion on the parotoid gland, to dissolve this lesion what we can prescribe? In a good power with weekly systems?

2. Second thing, is as a surgeon has cut a good portion of tissue and bone from the mandible region, the surgeon says it will get healed up automatically and bone and tissue will regenerate by itself. I want support from you that can we have medicines which can help to regenerate the bones as well as tissue.

3. How long he has to take Bellandona + Arnica, as would is still not healed?

Answered by Dr. Arti Yadav

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Arnica and Belladonna should be continued for another 15 to 20 days. If his pain has reduced then, he can stop Spigellia and use it SOS.

Symphytum tincture of 20 drops daily for one month can be used for bone regeneration. After 15 days when Arnica and Belladonna are discontinued, start with Calcarea phos 30, five drops thrice a day for 15 days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
