Dr. Dina Guzman

Professional Bio

Dr. Dina Guzman completed her BS Pre-Medical Course at the University of Santo Tomas from 1964 to 1968 and pursued her degree in Medicine at the same university from 1968 to 1972. She completed her Medical Post-Graduate Internship at UP-PGH, and her extensive academic and clinical training enabled her to successfully pass the Medical Board Licensure Examination in 1973. Dr. Guzman dedicated approximately 35 years to government hospitals, where she advanced from a General Practitioner to a Medical Specialist III in Anesthesia. Later, she transitioned into administrative and clinical leadership as Chief Training Officer, managing a variety of hospital programs. These included initiatives on HIV/AIDS, Family Planning lectures, counseling for staff and trainees, Alternative Medicine, and participation in medical missions such as “Operation Smile.” She also contributed to Public Health Radio Communications outreach programs, furthering the impact of her work in community health. In addition to her extensive clinical and administrative experience, Dr. Guzman earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from UP-CPH. She also achieved 3rd Level Career Executive Service Eligibilities (CESE and CSEE), underscoring her commitment to excellence in public service. During the latter part of her career, she took on the role of College Secretary at a budding medical school. This position allowed her to mentor and inspire medical students, helping them develop the compassion and competence necessary for their future roles as physicians, a cause deeply close to her heart. Currently, Dr. Guzman continues to serve her community by focusing on Pastoral Community Health and providing medical consultations.
