My stomach is getting bigger, and I have constipation. Why?

Hi doctor,

I am a 21 year old girl. I used to eat a lot from my childhood, but I was not that fat. I had a big belly from 13 years, and I used to hide it in my dress because I was shy of it. From about five months my stomach has become bigger. I have problems with sitting and doing daily household works like cleaning and washing. I had no such problems when I was in college, and it all started after my college life. I also have a constipation problem, and I do not go to the bathroom daily. Usually, I go once in two or four days. I do not hold it in, but I do not have the feeling to go to the bathroom at all. I have a habit of holding urine, and sometimes I hold my urine for 12 hours. I have no problems with my periods, as usual, it is two days early and some pain in the starting, for which I take painkillers. I did not consult any doctor still. I am also attaching the photos of my stomach. Please help.

I ate three toxic oleander flowers. Please help.

Hi doctor,

I am a 60 year old male, who weighs 165 kg, and I am 172 cm tall. I have a bowel problem, and so I have recently become a vegetarian. I ate three oleander plant flowers 18 hours ago with my evening meal, not knowing they were toxic, as I am not a gardener. I found out that they were toxic this morning when I began to vomit. I have been drinking plenty of water. Even though the flowers were in my stomach for many hours, I appear to have vomited most of the flowers. The vomiting ceased when it became practically clear water. I have not eaten since, and I feel a little lightheaded. My body temperature has been fluctuating a little. Otherwise, I am fine, and I do not see any urgency. Regardless of this, medical services are not an option. There is, however, a local chemist. Should I continue to drink plenty of water and rest for a day or so?

My 3-month-old vomits with cough bouts. Please Help?

Hello doctor,

My son is 3 months old. Three days ago, he had a fever with cold and cough. Due to the cough, he had severe vomiting. On the next day, we consulted his doctor, who prescribed Emeset, Crocin, Meftal spas, Ascoril D, Ecobion, and ORS. The same night he had a fever again. He felt better yesterday, but again at night, his temperature was quite high.

What is the recommended treatment for blood in the stools, abdominal pain, fatigue, and weight loss?

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old female who is awaiting a colonoscopy. I was diagnosed with GI bleeding after having a history of blood in my stools. I had abdominal pain, diarrhea, loose ribbon-like stools, fatigue, and an unusual weight loss of around 23 pounds in two months. I am also experiencing ringing in my ears, pressure in my head, and rapid heartbeats. My liver enzyme levels and EKG appeared to be slightly abnormal after undergoing blood and laboratory work. During the examination, my GI doctor informed me that the bleeding was not caused by a GI problem and that it could have been caused by my colon from my associated symptoms. I also noticed a larger, painless swelling above my right clavicle, which was later diagnosed as a lipoma.

I am a recently recovered alcoholic, but I used to have a habit of drinking excessively, which I gradually reduced but continued until I noticed GI bleeding. All of the doctors I have seen so far believe my drinking is held accountable for my symptoms.

My pain episodes have increased and worsened over time, and I now have them every day. I feel ill and spend most of my time in the toilet. I can see how the symptoms are similar to both colitis and colon cancer, and I would appreciate your advice given my situation.

Despite taking medicines for stomach pain, I did not get any relief. Why?

Hello doctor,

I am having stomach pain from about one and a half months. The pain generally begins after lunch or dinner and may last for one to four hours. It is episodic in nature and increases in severity, and then gradually goes away. The pain occurs in the lower left region near the navel. The doctor at the local hospital said that there is some tenderness in the colon, and the pain may be because of some infection. Widal test was also mildly positive (report attached). Following it, I was admitted to a local hospital for five days and was prescribed some antibiotic and laxative treatment which did not help much. All my endoscopy, colonoscopy, x-ray, and ultrasound reports are completely normal and are attached. The medications that were prescribed are Mebiz SR and O2 tablet, both twice a day, Ultracet and Hyocimax tablet, both when required. Despite doing a full course, I did not get any relief. Please tell me if there can be some other reason for the pain and its cure.
