Dr. Daya Thirumala Rao has vast experience in Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy and Laser-Assisted Spinal Endoscopy), Percutaneous Endoscopic Laser Annuloplasty (PELA) technique for lumbar disc Prolapse coupled with his specialization in Endoscopic spine surgery. Beyond conventional surgical practices, he is actively involved in research that has successfully brought innovations into the field of Endoscopic Spine Surgery as published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Spinal Surgery. He initiated the training of doctors in minimally invasive spine surgery with the dream of bringing advanced spinal surgeries within reach of every individual. He is a Member of the Asian Academy of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (AAMISS) and the International Society of Minimal Intervention in Spinal Surgery (ISMISS). Recently Dr. Rao was awarded an American Minimally Invasive Spine Fellowship certification for his excellent new innovative methods in treating disc Prolapse coupled with Endoscope and Laser. It has enabled him to perform surgery safely around neural structures like the Nerves and Spinal cord under endoscopic vision. In addition, he is the only certified Spine Specialist in India who performs Laser Annuloplasty with local anesthesia by LASE technique - Laser-assisted Spinal Endoscopy to treat Disc problems after failed medical treatment.
