Acoustic trauma is referred to as an injury of the inner ear caused due to exposure to a high decibel noise. The causes are sounds produced from explosions, gunshots, firecrackers, and head trauma. These result in conductive hearing loss and damaged eardrums. It is treated by taking hyperbaric oxygen therapy and corticosteroids.
