Ammonia toxicity occurs when too much ammonium. Susceptible individuals suffer from ammonia toxicity due to exposure to external sources of ammonia by inhalation, ingestion, direct skin contact, or contact with the eye. It creates various deleterious acute and chronic side effects on the patients. Some of the side effects are scratchy throat, rhinorrhea, cough, chest tightness, dyspnea, and eye irritation.
