Itching around the anus, otherwise called pruritis ani, can be extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. Infections (including sexually transmitted infections), fecal incontinence, chronic diarrhea, harsh soaps, psoriasis, diabetes, hemorrhoids, anal tumors, etc., can all result in anal itching.
